Surpise, surprise. A reply from my MP plopped through the letter box this morning. He has passed my comments on to the Minister yadda yadda but did state "it to be sensible that the balance of fairness should favour the individual while any appeal was ongoing" and that he was astonished to learn of the treatment I have recieved. He has also promised me a copy of the Minister's response when he gets it. Result? Perhaps. Should any of you have the need to contact anyone 'official' there is a brilliant website called WriteToThem.com. You just put in you postcode and it comes up with all your local and district councillors. MPs and Euro MPs, and contacts in the Lords. There's even a ready made letter head so all you have to do is type in your blurb , it turns it into a letter and sends it for you. I was impressed.
OH ran me over to Barnstaple yesterday. Bought some stone chippings to cover up the ghastly concrete in the front garden, lots of woodchip to put down to keep the moisture in after the rain promised at the weekend, and lots of potting compost ready to put my geraniums in. We have decided that we won't get the garage built this side of the summer, or even this year, so I've bought a big packet of mixed annual seeds to scatter on the bed at the end of the garden. According to the radio it's turning much cooler next week so get your jumpers back out.
The picture is of one of the ammarylis I grew earlier in the year.

Lovely amaryllis. I am so pleased that at least you got a response, and that it was cautiously positive. That website sounds great.
That's helpful, once you get an MP involved something usually gets sorted. X fingers for you.
Lovely amarylis
Loved the amaryllis - went back into yesterdays blog - loved the Egypt pictures and story - I had a hot air balloon flight for my 50th, a long walk with friends and a quiz on the lawn - no big parties here either!
Good for you for pursuing this - it's encouraging that you have had a response.
Good luck with the seeding - I'm going to scatter California Poppy seeds tomorrow if it is warm enough. I have a gritty, gravelly slope and they are supposed to do well in such a place.
lets hope they get it sorted for i love the ot amaryllis what lovley colour x jep
