mostly been gardening. The nights have gradually been warming up a bit so I very gingerly unwrapped my big purple nana.
I'm afraid it doesn't look very promising but a few days of warmth and sunshine may bring it on. The winter has been exceptionally cold and frosty for Devon so it may be a casualty.
The Bobo memorial crab apple that was planted as a stick last year has come through with flying colours and is smothered in buds and blossom, and the mimosa is doing it's usual frothy thing.
It took two of us to repot the agave. This one is an off shoot of an enormous plant that we had in France. It was six feet across and took four of us to heave it on to the trailer when I gave it to my friend Pat when we left. She planted it in her wonderful garden that runs down to the beach overlooking the Rade de Brest. I doubt if this 'baby' will acheive such proportions but it is certainly trying.

Lovely, lovely flowers, but what is a big nana!! Those bleeding hearts are so so beautiful.
Well done for all your gardening Toady. We planted a peach tree but so far no signs of life.
Toady, your garden is looking good. Please do put up more pictures as the season continues.
It is still very early days here in NY, and the past couple of days have been cold, rainy and fiercely windy. I keep thinking that means that the spring flowering season will last longer.
xo
You are far, far ahead of us over here - my bleeding heart is just a shoot.
Lovely photos.
Your garden looks lovely Toady. We are behind you here in Wales but I have been out pottering.
Also wondering what a big nana is!. Isn't it great to get out into the garden. The weather is very mixed and unpredictable here in Dublin at the moment. Are you aware that your UTube sometimes covers your blog. I haven't got the brain space at the moment to add such great things to my blog.Hope your wheelie bag is coming in handy. I love mine and your blog made me laugh. xx
my mimosa doesn't do it to that extent At All. My bleeding heart is all but over but the mimosa, though pretty, is mean with its flowering. Certainly an exctiing time of year in the garden this. Oops, my word verif is yelling. How very appropriate.
