The above term could be interpreted in may ways. It could be the musings on a building site when they calculate the mix and quantity of a new foundation or the sad obsession of a poor Billy no mates whose waking thoughts are preoccupied with the stuff [ after all the Romans did invent it]. But no, it is the technique that I am now learning as part of Exeter University's studies into long term depression. Putting aside my first thoughts of two little Bob the Builder figures shovelling from sacks of Blue Circle into my head, like a Terry Gilliam cartoon, I have an impressive ring binder and a CD and for the next 6 weeks I will be practicing and diary keeping.

I am prepared to take full credit for the last couple of weeks of good weather. After many years of avoiding it I have last bought a tumble dryer. It stands in the corner of the kitchen gathering dust because up till yesterday when the first of the autumn gales roared in over us the sun has been shining. It is a matter of honour to me that all power bills are kept to the absolute minimum so it was with reluctance this morning that I reset the timer for the central heating. Just for an hour in the morning and evening. I see it as a very slippery slope, especially with the pirce hikes this summer.

My advice to everybody is not to knit or sew in black. I have knitted the dearest black fluffy teddy bear and have given him blue eyes. The problem is that I have twice now sewn on an arm where his head should be. Twice - unbelievable. The first time it took me nearly two hours to unpick him. This involved wearing my high power Foster Grant reading specs that I keep for close work, and working under a very strong daylight work lamp. Then blow me when I turned him right side out again last night I'd done it again. He now awaits me again to put him right.
Time for me to get Back to Black.

I'll be over in a bit toady; our dryer packed up before the summer (and yes, I use that term loosely!) and we still haven't replaced it. Sigh... xx
Ah, the luxury of a dryer - I worship at the door of mine when we enter the long wet winter!
You made me laugh with your advice not to knit in black - you must have been good and tired of that teddy when you got him all together!
There's no danger of me sewing or knitting in black...or in any colour come to that, I am allergic to needlework.
Oh I'm sure that black bear wanted his arm on back to front - you know what teddies are like!
makes the idea of coping with black dog into a new concept with black bear traumas instead!
like your bears on your header, very friendly.
