Trussed Up Again

Bum, bum and double bum, my back's gone again. Yet again trussed up like a prize Smithfield Turkey I'm shuffling about the house in OH's surgical corset trying to avoid Minnie's accusing looks . I guiltily avoid her gaze as I'm afraid walks in wellies on mud are just not on. And oh what I would give for a downstairs loo instead of having to gingerly climb the stairs with my knees clamped together.
At least I think I know how it happened. The delivery of a new sofa and armchair on Saturday necessitated a lot of shuffling of sideboards and dressers and I fear that the damage was done helping OH carry a dresser base down to the shed. No great distance but several steps and twists to get it through the doors. So when it's better I shall religiously take up the back strengthening excersises that I have urged others to do. All very good for the tummy muscles too. That's if you've get any left.
So it's Easter weekend and the forecast is diabolical. I do not foresee hoards of tourist somehow. We must time our fornightly shop very carefully as things will be closed on Sunday. We have a new Asda opening later in the year which should take some of the pressure off. You can't turn the clock back and we really do need another supermarket to serve all the thousands of new houses that have sprung up.
Nothing planned for the weekend although it will be our 35th wedding anniversary on Monday. Oooh Err missus! How did that happen?
The garden is bravely coming back to life in spite of the bitter cold. The mimosa is giving forth it's canary yellow fluffy balls and the magnolia stellata that I worried about moving last year is putting out it's first dainty blooms. The summer jasmine is in flower - very strange - and the wisteria is budding up nicely. No potted bulbs this Spring as at bulb planting time last Autumn I was not in a very happy place but will definately make a point of putting some in for next year. I'm keenly checking my big purple nana. It shrivelled back to a tatty looking mess during the winter and I'm on tenterhooks to see if it has survived. It's supposed to be frost hardy but no shoots yet.
Time to shuffle up the stairs again.

Your flowers sound lovely. How lucky you are to have mimosa! All are way ahead of ours. I think the SW must be just that little bit warmer.

Take care of that back - and congratulation on achieving 35yeas of married life.

POOR you, am a slave to my back and there's nothing like that slow care you have to take when it goes. And congrats on the 35 years! Love the picture, too.

Oh Toady - I'm so sorry to read about your back. Big, big sympathy from me!
The forecast for Easter is sad for this part of the world too. Sigh.
Congrats on the 35 years!!!!...we were also married in '73! I loved your seen things - and I encourage you to go to Macchu Picchu...it was my dream too and it's amazing!

Berlimey 35 years . . .well done.

Eeeek poor you with the back though - back pain is a truly rotten thing to have. Well time to put your feet up methinks and let yourself be spoiled rotten. And no more lifting sofa's EVER . . . now tuck that vest in and behave yourself, or you will have to lie on a board in the naughty corner . . .sigh . .

We still have no flowers here at all . . .

Thirty-five years! Wow, Toady, congratulations to you and that wise man who married you.

Never, never move any more heavy furniture, or refridgerators, or anvils, or ... please!

I am sure those exercises will be resumed as soon as you feel wise.

The spring flowers must be so pretty!

Hello Toady,

Oh poor you with nasty back pain, there's nothing worse. Hope you get some time now to rest and relax over the Easter period.

I love Mimosa and Magnolia's, sadly I always have lost the Magnolia's, think I have used wrong soil maybe.

Now promise me no more lifting Toady, take care of that back of yours, and wishing you a very Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary for Monday.

I beat you by three years and exactly one month Toady for mine.
