This is the first time in 15 years that we have been dogless and I don't like it. The house is very quiet and somewhat sterile. L's springer Max has visited and did a complete search of the house looking for Bo but gave up a little bewilderered but not unduly worried. Of course I keep looking out into the garden expecting to see him sniffing around or sitting on his step, and I even sort of prepare to step over him where he used to lie most inconveniently blocking the kitchen door. It is very difficult not to rush over to Ilfracombe to the NCDL and find another poor lost soul.
Meanwhile our cockatiel Ossie is keeping us amused. She is very eggy at the moment and is very affectionate. She has found that she likes stripping wallpaper and sits on the picture rail and nibbles away. I tell her that I'd like the whole room stripped by Christmas ready to redecorate in the new year.
Off for a haircut today. I was bemused to see from my appointment card that the last time was in January!

Perhaps you need to mourn darling Bo for a while before getting another dog. He will be such a great loss to your heart. Do take care.

I think Crystal made a good point Toady, though it is so difficlt when the place feels so empty. Thinking of you xxx
Its hard isnt it. I do feel for you.
Hope your hairdresser trip goes well! Is that why its raining?!!
When animals go they leave such a space. I'm so sorry to hear about Bo.
Bo was a lovely looking dog, not unlike my old collie Kerry. I still miss her and know just what you are going through. I agree with Crystal, I wouldn't rush and get another as you need to grieve. I got another too quickly. I love all dogs of course butI don't seem to have bonded with her somehow.
Crystal is probably right, Toady, but don't let that house be dog-less for too long. Nice bird - can she cuss??? Lots of love to you xxx
Oh poor Toady it must be miserable having had him so long. I can offer you a badly behaved labrador if you like!!
That's hard. I'm sure Bo is still around somewhere, but those little reminders each day take a while to fade.
Thanks for visiting my blog, the dress was an ebay bargain, brand new, silk promdress/bridesmaiddress for 9.99!! not bad??
So sorry to hear about Bo, It's so horrid losing a beloved pet, especially a dog, I think. Life is so empty withput them
We lost two cats this year and I am still very aware of their absence (even though we have two more). I think it is just a way of remembering them.
I know how much you still miss Bo Toady, I do too with Robbie. I was going to rush and get another pup, but have decided to wait longer, although Daisy I know misses Robbie she is unusually much quieter at the moment.
Thinking of you Toady.
