I am so pleased that you have got your shop sorted. Love the name btw. I really like the 'fair trade' items-think they should be popular, and by having the shop you will soon be able to look at the 'traffic' and analyse how many are visiting the shop and for what items.
The only comment I would make is for you to be aware of covering all your costs on the postage. This is something I have learnt from several years experience and some costly mistakes! Of course postage costs should include postage AND PACKING, that is whatever you wrap the item in and your time to wrap it. Also you need to ensure that your listing fees, final value fee and paypal fees are covered.
You will know better than me whether you are making a good enough mark up on the items to absorb these costs without adding to the postage part. However because my items are hand crafted and therefore I can't always recoup the TIME (££) it costs to make them, I have to ensure that I charge a good basic cost per item but cover well the 'extras' and wrap it up in the postage & packing. Most people who use Ebay fully understand and expect this. I have NEVER had any complaints, but it is a matter of confidence. I just wonder whether 50p for those wallets for example is enough to cover everything I have just highlighted above?? !!
As a general rule I weigh the item in the packaging and calculate the correct cost to post it and then double that to allow for the fees etc.
Otherwise, I take my hat off to you and wish you all the best. My little business started on E-bay and it was my salvation in every sense of the word. It allows me to throw myself into it and 'hide' from any troubles or torture I am feeling. It has helped me recover some of my self esteem and meet some really lovely people. And of course, get a little pin money.
I hope it is as good for you. As a seasoned e-bay, fast heading towards my 1000 sale I am always here if you need any advice/help, just shout!
Sliding far too fast towards the big 6 0 but fighting all the way. Sufferer from clinical depression but currently under control but not cured. Spend my days dog walking, crafting and avoiding housework.
